Susan is a native of Jackson, Michigan. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of eight or nine. Unfortunately, as a teenager and young adult, she became rebellious, angry at God, and disillusioned by mainstream Christianity. In 1980, she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2000, she quit attending LDS services, and began attending Cache Valley Christian Center. She was called to establish Abundant Hope Ministries, during one of their women's retreats, in the spring of 2003. She was ordained by Saint Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries on August 20, 2003. Susan is a graduate of The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, located in Belton, TX. She has received several prestigious awards for her advocacy work, within the Independent Living Movement. She refuses to keep her own disabilities from fulfilling the mission that God has called her to.
