I am so exited about Abundant Hope Ministries' Church on the Web that I want you to get the most that you can, from your visit to our church.
Over the years, I have discovered that when I actually open my Bible and read the passage that the speaker is referring to for myself, my understanding of the message found in the passage of scripture is greater. Therefore, I encourage you to read biblical references for yourself. I have also found that reading passages of scripture referred to in a sermon, for a second time, a day or two after the sermon has been delivered, in its context, adds to my understanding of the passage. Getting into this habit will help you heed the warning given in 1 John 4:1:
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
I pray about everything that I write for Abundant Hope Ministries. Regardless of this, because I am not infalible, I encourage you to pray about everything that you receive from Abundant Hope Ministries. I also want yo to feel free to challenge me, if you have an opinion that differs from mine.

I use the King James Version
For the most part, I use the King James Version of the Bible, in my sermons. I use this version because I have been unable to find the New International Version on CD-ROM. When you go back to read the passages of scriptures in your own Bible, you can feel free to use whatever version of the Bible that you are the most comfortable with. Often, I find that it is helpful to read the same passage of scripture in more than one version.
When our sermons and other written materials leave our office, I pray that the receiver will have the Holy Spirit with them so that they can be given an understanding heart, open and ready for God to speak to them. I invite you to pray for understanding before you begin reading the materials that we send you. In addition, I request that you pray for me, throughout the week, as I write the materials that you will receive. |
Thank-you for allowing me to be your pastor. If there is anything that I can do to help you grow in Christ, please feel free to tell me about it.
Love in Christ
